I don’t even know what the first thing I’ll do will be when I finally return to the UK AKA TERF Island for a visit.

I genuinely think being back in ol’ Blighty might shock the shit out of me at first.

It’ll be four years since I’ve been here in Philadelphia. I love it here. As far as I’m concerned, Philly is home now and that’s not changing for the foreseeable.

But I have to say how much I cannot stand how permanently tethered I feel I am to the UK. It’s not just where I’m from, it’s a land I’ve come to resent immensely.

All my life, I’ve just wanted the people and places that I love to love me back. Britain hates my Blackness & Queerness.

But I still feel tethered to it.

@theauracle The reason they're shouting so loud is they are a minority.

On the other hand. I still live here, and I'm white straight and cis - don't feel at home either.

The faster capitalism circles around the plug hole the more they shout and carry on.

I see where you’re coming from but the reason they are so loud is because they have the nation’s biggest microphones in the British press right in front of their faces, not because they are small in statistical numbers.

They have the influence and power that the people they are moving to see unalive do not. They are known the world over because they have access to the countries largest platforms in the Guardian and the Times of London.
