"Let’s together act together so we make sure that it is so economically painful for Israel that settlement expansion becomes untenable, because what is happening in the #WestBank is untenable – families driven from their homes, communities under constant threat, #Palestinians being lynched in the streets. That is what we should be confronting. Words of condemnation are just not going to cut it" -- Emily Thornberry

@simon_brooke poor woman must’ve had bronchitis all this time. I also have a memory of her being very dismissive of protesters when she was confronted over Labour’s enabling of the genocide a few months ago.

It looks like she’s gonna be one of those people who will claim that she was defending Palestinian rights all along when she did nothing. I honestly don’t think that’s gonna work.

@francis more joy there is in heaven for one sinner that repenteth...

@simon_brooke yeah, but has she repented, or is she just doing an Andy Burnham when the folks who fought for years in Liverpool finally got some justice? Not convinced.

@francis Fair.

She's not a person I'd expect to see on our side of the argument, but it would be good if there were some movement among the political establishment.
