Of course... Britain's top civil servant (whose post is currently vacant) is 'massively' underpaid at £200k.

This is more about the inflation in top pay (across both private & public sector) than the wage for the job.

On one level, looking at University VCs who often earn northwards of £300k a year, there is a certain logic to the position... but when we look at what the majority of taxpayers earn we might pause to ask, is anyone worth that sort of money?
