We should have used record low interest rates to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure, instead we gave it to shareholders.

Wes Streeting is the Murdoch choice for next Labour Party leader.
The same old Blairite shite, but with a fresh new smile.

It's weird

These centrist types have no sense of history

Labour took folks for granted and did nothing for them for generations and finally they voted for what they thought was change

It wasn't

But, maybe the centrists should take some responsibility?

Too much to ask, probably.

everyone being like "it sucks that you want to insulate yourself from people who want nothing more than to see you suffer and die" and advocating against using tools provided by the software to accomplish this because having their misguided idea of "free speech" is more important to them than other people's lives.

attackers of @fediblock claiming it "ruins the fediverse" are actually making fedi work as intended, lmao. the option to defederate on both user and server levels exist for a reason!

If it was about babies, we’d have excellent and free universal maternal care. You wouldn’t be charged a cent to give birth, no matter how complicated your delivery was. If it was about babies, we’d have months and months of parental leave, for everyone.

I recently read the "customer is always right" comes from Selfridge - and it's missing the other half "the customer is always right in matters of taste". As in, I might think that hat looks terrible on you, but if you wanna buy it, fine. So when people quote it, remember, it doesn't mean you have to be a doormat. It means the customer can buy whatever they want - fine - you don't have to take crap from them.

The Greens have done well where I live.

They show up, talk to us, reply to emails, and don't treat the job as a sinecure while it would appear the local developers get what they want without being questioned.

It's not hard. It's also how the LDs rebuilt their base back in the day.

I don't call myself left - that would mean joining in with Mason's delusional crap. greenplenty.substack.com/p/don

If you're depressed because @Keir_Starmer @ShabanaMahmood @AnnelieseDodds and others have turned around Labour's machine, and made some spectacular gains, ask yourself why you're still calling yourself "left"... you can be critical and happy at the same time
