A social security system must provide when we need it.

There is no question that payments should rise with inflation or it is not fit for purpose.

RT @LeftUnityParty
Most people want to work. So rather than reduce social security payments, how about?

@haynescarey @silverrich39 I was and worked for them when privatised and nationalised over a period of thirty years. Nationalisation was much better for the consumer financially and job wise than ever privatisation was.when the wolves came in when privatised it was always about the shareholder not consumer

Kwarteng's disaster budget made explicit the first two steps of their plan:

1. Take every penny we can from the working class.
2. Give it to the rich.

Today's speech adds the next step:

3. Make it illegal for you to do anything about it.

Our plan was cheaper for Britain than Liz Truss's energy plan

🙂It would have lowered our energy bills consistently

🥶 And it didn't try to convince us that its just a fact that we have to suffer

The "we are focused on growth" excuse for the cut in tax for the rich in general and bankers and property investors in particular is like "the dog ate my homework".
It is not even meant to be believed.
The true reason is greed.

Labour left vow fight-back after Starmer speech

It's time they broke away and formed a new, actually socialist, party. Work with the greens and SNP, take the sensible unions as affiliates with them. They'll get a lot of Labour members switching too.

It'll force Labour to adopt PR and accept they can't win alone. We'll get a coalition against the Tories and actual socialist influence in government.

Something I never consciously realized before this year: Ending war implies ending dictators, because all you need is one crazy dictator and you've got a war.

When did we normalise the fact that 14 million people live in poverty in the UK, 4.5 million of whom are children?

RT @markcurtis30
Seriously, how many more revelations about the true nature of UK governance do centrists need before they realise that British "democracy" is a sham and cover?
