Given the Tories prioritised the maintenance of profits under the varying conditions (from recession to lockdown) across their years of Government, we cannot be surprised that the TUC will seek to 'restore' pay levels (and living standards) to levels last seen around 2010..

However, of course while 'maintaining' profits is seen as a legitimate business policy, restoring living standards for workers is seen as special pleading & exceptional (now even by Labour).

"Those seeking an end to the violence in Gaza...are now demanding an arms embargo on Israel, rather than just a 'cease-fire.' This is because the White House has warped the definition of a 'supporting a ceasefire' to mean supporting open-ended, performative, bad-faith talks for hostage exchanges...while continuing to arm and fund Israel’s open-ended destruction of Gaza."
