I'm looking for a new administrator for climatejustice.social.
Our tech girl, who did a great job and who I trust very much, won't be able to do it for very long anymore as she has a lot on her plate.
To get the job, first and foremost I have to trust you. Fortunately there are many people on the Fediverse I trust. Hopefully among them are those who also have time and skills to administer a mastodon instance.
You also need to have experience in debian system adminstration (updating, ssh, borg backup, etc), web administration (nginx, postgresql, etc) and of course mastodon (ruby on rails, nodejs, etc).
climatejustice.social has a 5000 character limit, so it's not just "vanilla mastodon".

the pattern I have personally observed on here several times over is that some white person will act like an asshole towards a BIPOC, and when called out on it, they will deny it and double down on what they said. Their friends will cover their back and get into apologetics for their behavior. Fediblock posts will be made. Racism apologists will ask for evidence. Evidence will be presented. The evidence will be dismissed. The criticism and collection of evidence will be miscontrued as a harassment campaign against the original perpetrator based on their identity.
It's always the same playbook. It drives this community apart. And it shouldn't even happen in the first place. Don't be an asshole to BIPOC. Don't say racist shit. And if you do, be prepared to apologize, delete your posts and learn from your mistakes. Don't double down on your garbage. Don't gaslight us into thinking that you are the victim. And don't side with people who do this.
