Johnson will always put his career first.

His hard Brexit created the mess everyone is trying to fix.

The best advice: do the opposite of what he proposes!

Flashback to our projections around London when we took the government to court. Never forget what Matt Hancock did. This government failed to prepare, failed to protect workers+then entered into dodgy PPE deals. @EveryDoctorUK + Good Law Project proved the VIP PPE lane existed🚨

Yet again the Tory Government is asking privatised water companies to stop spewing sewage into our beautiful rivers.

Asking nicely doesn't work.

The water companies should be taken into public ownership. With shareholder dividends removed we can invest in sewage infrastructure.

This is so revealing of Peterson's fundamental mindset. He's basically saying "If I don't know your gender how can I know which prejudices I should apply to you?" twitter.com/AdamRutherford/sta

@Keir_Starmer @YvetteCooperMP Money would be far better spent on fighting the causes of crime, eradicating poverty, increasing opportunities and ending the hopeless and self-defeating war on drugs.

We'd legalise cannabis and decriminalise other drugs.

Coming to a constituency near you in time for the 2023-25 election season!

When you say our ideas are “unelectable”, you are telling us our needs can never be addressed, and not only is that nonsense, it’s not something I could ever accept. Imagine telling someone it’s unelectable to fight racism or homophobia, that’s no less acceptable than telling us it’s unelectable to fight classism

Corbyn suspended "Sir" Trevor Phillips for his comments about Muslims.

Starmer arbitrarily overturned Phillips' suspension.

Starmer claims to have "zero tolerance" of racism.

Swap "Muslim" for "Jew" in Phillips' comments.

Starmer is happy to tolerate racism when it suits him.

Sir Keir Starmer wants more punitive punishment for peaceful protest than the judiciary.
He's not a Socialist, I'd find it hard to describe him as Liberal.

Hi @RishiSunak

Harry here, Addiction Nurse specialist.

Main barriers to recovery from addiction?

- cuts to benefits
- lack of housing
- NHS cuts
- loss of legal aid
- loss of community centers
- underfunded treatment services

All of which your govt is responsible for. twitter.com/RishiSunak/status/

It’s curious, Nadhim Zahawi will never stand trial for £3.7m fraud.

How Michelle Mone never will for £133.6m fraud.

How no one will be prosecuted for £14.9bn PPE fraud.

Yet if you shoplift £10 of stuff from the supermarket you will be straight to court even if you give it back

Use this one trick to reduce sexist comments in YouTube

It was suggested to me by @CraftComputing to add emojis to the block list in order to reduce comment scammers, since they often use emojis to get around regular moderation tools.

Not only has that helped remove comment scams in the last week, but removing all of the "heart" or "kissy-face" emojis has removed dozens of sexist comments as well.

Anyone routinely dealing with sexist YouTube comments- I can highly recommend it.

Psssst - getting people together to create a shared understanding is usually NOT a waste of time.

As Simon Kuper (FT) points out, 'cleverness barely predicts top incomes, because so many other factors matter more in working life. There’s luck, family background, motivation, self-regulation, skill at office politics & even height'.

Leaving aside the personal factors, I've always been convinced that we under-play luck (both to ourselves, but also when we look at the rich & successful); when luck actually can be decisive, we should treat its fruits as unearned income & tax them progressively!

The result will be genuine human suffering as a result of dressing a fallible, experimental intelligence up as an authoritative source of information. People will be inspired to harm themselves or others, all while their ideas and likenesses are counterfeited and monetized, all so that wealthy executives can tell the world - and Wall Street - that their companies are “innovative.”

Toynbee has poisoned our discourse with her bigotry about Corbyn and the left for years.
She and the rest of the Guardian hate-mongers have done irreparable damage to our politics, our democracy and our country.
Is is a shameful legacy.

Alright. Let's get this morning started with a deep dive into the transphobia against trans men that Pamela Paul's defense of JK Rowling both contributes to and ignores.

Yes, I will keep beating this drum. Because Rowling's transphobia against trans men is some of the most explicitly stated transphobia she has engaged in, and I have quotes for days.

Medium article: "Coding won't exist in five years. This is why."

First paragraph: "once upon a time, in a world not too different from ours, handmade clothing was the norm."

Comrade. Friend. I really need to tell you that clothing is still hand made. We just exploit people in the global south to make tons of it cheaply.
