@hughster very little - but also how relevant is the truth or otherwise in the face of the Tory lie machine? They would have made toe fungus into a diplomatic incident. Why are you getting worked up about this?

@hughster

Compared with Johnson and Johnson's cronies the man is a saint. For example Johnson is a nasty racist and anti semite and the tory party is dodgy as hell in general.

Which party was attacked and had things made up about it?

Which party now has a hierarchy of racism and has done nothing about it?

@AgainstLies

I thought he was far too nice to people he should have attacked mercilessly.

Never been that fond of Labour tbh, but I thought maybe things might get better, in my heart I knew it was going to go the way it did. I am sad I wasn't disappointed.

Watching the Al Jazeera documentaries was unsurprising - I remember the 80s.

I did knock on doors in the election because I am a socialist. Now we don't have that option.

The lesser of 2 evils is still evil.

Or they could try taxing the rich.
Just an idea.
Labour again attacking the poor, rather than those with money who don't pay their fair share.

Right - just rewired my guitar with Fishman P90s, that have a complicated wiring loom.

Worried I may have not been thinking carefully enough and the wires will all cross and look a mess.

As long as it works ...

Starmer already has form for organising and accelerating crackdowns and harsh sentences for people caught up in outbreaks of protest (protests caused by the lethal actions of the police). And has signalled his antipathy towards Climate protest. This is not a "human rights lawyer"

RT @hatemachine1187
What do we think will happen under Labour when there are demos to resist forced eviction and detention of undocumented people? When those communities organise resistance in solidarity with their neighbours? As in Glasgow

That will be "zero tolerance for those who tolerate crime"

@jessicaelgot Becoming Tory to beat the Tories isn't beating the Tories.

@AgainstLies

?

Are you serious?

Making spurious allegations when there's a long list of corruption and venality, particularly over Covid and the NHS privatisation, he could have been railing them over for years?

Given his record over Saville he should be keeping quiet about paedo stuff, in my opinion.

Of course, being in bed with NHS privatisers might make fighting with them a bit difficult.

It stinks of desperation and cognitive dissonance on a grand scale. But that's centrism for ya.

"My party is better than this brand of gutter politics"
--David Blunkett

Not familiar with the entire recorded history of your own party then, David?🤔

@AgainstLies I disagree. These crappy ads look like US campaign lies and come from the belief that using money alone can win elections. Just cos the tories make a fetish of intellectual and moral dishonesty doesn’t mean you have to join in. But if you’ve lost your mass base then this kind of idiot hit politics is all that’s left.

@JohnLoader6 they are behaving like it’s all they know, though. Being tone deaf about poor people seems to be something they’ve taken on board in the drive to be “Tory 2, the rising incoherence”. Nandy’s collapse and Reeves’ benefits comments (as well as inaction from the steamed pudding in chief) don’t fill me with hope but revulsion.

Parties with a plan to fix things do not resort to this behaviour, but this is all the Labour right knows how to do. Tories might say dreadful things about their opponents, but when do they launch co-ordinated campaigns against individuals like the Labour right? open.substack.com/pub/councile
